1 manojo de col rizada
1 tallo de apio
1 rebanada de piña
2 tazas agua
Jugo de un limón
1 cucharadita de semilla de chia

The first Monday of 2015, the first week of the year. A fresh start. Like every year, one of my goals is to lose some extra pounds. One of my favorite ways is by making green smoothies or green monsters to detoxify and lose weight. Now that the holidays are gone it’s time to nourish the body with healthy goods. As my nutritionist says, “Eat to live, don’t live to eat.”
This weekend when leaving my nutrition class I decided to go ahead and go to the supermarket before I thought about it too much. I bought mostly fruits and vegetables and other ingredients to prepare healthy meals and take on one of my goals which is to change my eating habits. When I got home I decided it would be a good idea to wash and cut all my fruits and veggies I will be using for my smoothies and store them in ziploc bags and place them in the freezer. This will make them way easier to prepare and avoid the laziness in the mornings.
What I love about this green smoothie is that it’s good for the whole body, both inside and out as it not only helps you lose weight and detox, it helps for a more radiant skin. But of course, this juice alone will not be magical without a healthy diet of 5 small meals a day oh and water consumption … lots of water according to your weight.
There are countless ways you can prepare this juice, I usually prepare with what I have at home. You can adjust some veggie or fruit according to your preference.
- 1 bunch spinach
- 1 bunch kale
- ½ a cucumber
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1 slice of pineapple
- ½ banana
- ½ apple
- juice of 1 lemon
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tsp. Chia seeds
Add all ingredients into your blender and blend well. You can take before breakfast, as a snack or a meal replacement.
