Kids Zone in Spanish Launches on X1:  

They have the remote. You have the control.

Kids Zone-Spanish Guide copy Xfinity first introduced Kids Zone last year and the response from other users has been terrific. Which is why a few weeks ago I decided to walk into a Xfinity store and trade in my old set-top box for the new X1 platform. Watching our favorite tv shows has never been easier! I am very pleased that my daughter now has a safe place to watch TV independently and I can have peace of mind knowing the content has been deemed age-appropriate by Common Sense Media (www.commonsensemedia.org).

Xfinity is making Kids Zone a truly bicultural experience: now available in Spanish, Kids Zone meets the needs of today’s Hispanic families and gives our children a fun place to browse and watch TV in the language of their choice. 

This also will be the first experience that provides parents access to Common Sense Media’s age-based ratings and reviews in Spanish – directly on the TV – for some of the most-popular Latino kids TV programs including El Chavo Animado (our favorite!), Tayo, Nina’s World and even those shows I grew up watching like Plaza Sésamo. Common Sense Media will work to grow the catalog of in-language rated content over time and keep arming bicultural families with more resources and information to aid the decision-making process.

Kids Zone seamlessly blends live, on demand, DVR’d and purchased English and Spanish-language programming into one simple and safe user interface that can be set to either language. It can be easily accessed via the kids section of Xfinity On Demand or by simply saying “Kids Zone” into the X1 voice remote, something Naty loves to do when searching for her favorite shows. Kids Zone provides customizable settings allowing parents to filter content by a specific age-group and set up a four-digit pin to prevent children from exiting Kids Zone without permission.

The updates being made to Kids Zone on the X1 are one more example of how Xfinity is transforming the home entertainment experience for bilingual Latino customers and our families, where we want our children to learn and absorb educational programs in English, but also have the opportunity to learn in Español.
